Customer to Operate Target Drone from Two Sites
Composite Engineering, a subsidiary of Kratos Defense & Security Solutions, announced on 16 November it has won an award valued at U$17.75 million from an undisclosed new foreign customer for its BQM-167i unmanned aerial target drone system.
The company will deliver aircraft, command and control equipment, spares and related ancillary equipment to enable the customer to operate up to 30 flights of the aerial target system from two sites simultaneously.
“This new contract award is the first of three large new customer programs we expect to receive over the next several months, with one in particular being of significantly larger quantity and contract value. With the unmanned aerial target drone programmes we currently have under contract and that we will begin production on over the next several months, we expect Kratos Unmanned Systems Business to double in size over the next two years, with even larger growth possible,” said Eric DeMarco, Kratos’ President & CEO.
