Gunnery Simulator Time Helps Towards Continuation Training Requirements
At the Kratos Aircrew Training Centre in Orlando, FL, Kratos Defense & Security Solutions has been providing aerial gunnery training (AGT) for US Air Force Global Strike Command’s (AFGSC) special mission aviators under a contract placed by KBRwyle last year. AFGSC aircrew members are led by experienced Kratos instructors and train using the latest technologies and simulation systems to ensure mission readiness.
In addition to AGT, Kratos also delivers training in crew coordination, rescue hoist and cargo sling operations. The company has delivered over 100 training systems to US and allied forces over the past twenty years, while developing a reputation for cost-effective, blended training environments that combine virtual and physical components to maximise training realism and effectiveness.
“AFGSC recently approved our AGT simulator to count towards some of the annual continuation training requirements. This is further evidence that virtual reality is a viable training alternative to live training. High-fidelity simulation systems can cost millions of dollars to own and sustain. When budget or time constraints prevent acquisition of such systems, the Kratos Aircrew Training Center can provide aircrew members with training equivalent to what they would have received on their own simulator or aircraft while maximising training budgets and increasing readiness,” explained Senior Vice President, Kratos Training Solutions, Jose Diaz.
