New Canadian Replenishment Vessel Will Feature 38-Camera Security Network
UK-based Kongsberg Maritime has completed delivery of a large IP CCTV network to Chantier Davie Canada for the Royal Canadian Navy’s (RCN) new auxiliary replenishment vessel, known as PROJECT RESOLVE. A total of 38 marine grade cameras will provide a safety and security network on board.
The system, for which a factory acceptance test was successfully concluded in November, features open platform video management software, a ruggedised central control rack, operator workstations, distributed Power over Ethernet (PoE) network switches and an uninterruptible power supply, as well as the company’s 0482-6030 Marine HD PoE and marine grade IP Pan, Tilt and Zoom cameras.
Designed to provide flexible high definition performance, the Kongsberg solution allows for a unique data storage and archiving function, combining superior image performance, scalability and long term video storage and also offers the user flexibility to be able to optimise the system post deployment, taking advantage of the latest technologies and improving operator collaboration.
Following equipment installation, Kongsberg will provide ongoing engineering support to commission the CCTV system.
