Several Batches Delivered in Last Four Years
Kazakhstan Paramount Engineering (KPE), a joint venture between Paramount Group and Kazpetromash, announced on 25 February the delivery of another batch of Arlan 4×4 APCs to the Kazakh MoD. The company stated that the vehicles, which embody up to 70% local content, were all manufactured at KPE’s production facility in Nur-Sultan, adding that several batches have been delivered to Kazakhstan’s armed forces over the past four years.
The Arlan, which is the winterised variant of Paramount’s Marauder, is an MRAP, designed to operate in extreme of temperature – from 150° to +50°C, to meet Kazakh mission requirements that include quick-reaction force operations, infantry fire support missions or long-range border patrols.
According to KPE, Arlan’s double-skin spaced armour offers STANAG 4569 Level 3a & 3b blast protection against a 50kg TNT side blast, roadside bombs, and IEDs, as well as under-hull protection from an 8kg blast.
