Armed Forces will receive radioactive, biological and chemical decontamination agents
Kärcher Futuretech is supplying the German Armed Forces with radioactive, biological and chemical decontamination agents as part of a large-scale follow-up procurement.
The related agreements were signed by the parties in June and July.
The contracts for the three orders from the Federal Office of Bundeswehr Equipment, Information Technology and In-Service Support (BAAINBw) have an overall value of more than €10 million. The final deliveries are planned for 2025.
“For us, the orders are an important step in our cooperation with the German Armed Forces, who have been using our decontamination systems and agents for many years”, explained Markus Barner, Managing Director at Kärcher Futuretech.
Compared to earlier agents, the new chemicals are less complicated to use and, despite their higher concentration, are significantly more environmentally friendly.
The decontamination chemicals ordered include the nuclear decontaminant RDS 2000, used for the rapid and effective decontamination of surfaces; the biological decontaminant BDS 2000, based on a special peracetic acid (PAA); and the chemical decontaminant GDS 2000 for the decontamination of all known chemical warfare agents.
In addition to supplying products in the decontamination field, Kärcher Futuretech has carried out various projects for the Bundeswehr, including equipping them with water supply systems, field kitchens and mobile accommodation for the soldiers.
