Boost Fleet to 18

In an order valued at over €7 million, the Jamaica Defence Force (JDF) has ordered a further six BUSHMASTER protected vehicles. To be used in support of the Jamaican Constabulary’s crime-fighting efforts, the additional vehicles (including three configured as troop carriers and three as ambulances) brings the JDF’s BUSHMASTER fleet to 18.

The JDF has used the original vehicles over the last five years to good effect, hence the order for more. The new vehicles offer special features, including fully integrated auxiliary power units that provide power and supplementary air conditioning when the engine is off. This allows static vehicles to maintain a comfortable temperature in the Jamaican climate. The ambulance versions will give soldiers the ability to evacuate and treat injured police officers under the protection of the BUSHMASTER, rather than having to deploy vulnerable unarmoured vehicles in dangerous situations.

The BUSHMASTER is an 11t, 4×4 blast- and ballistic-protected mobility vehicle with a 4t payload. This multifaceted, combat-proven vehicle is specially designed to protect and transport up to ten people in extreme environments and hostile territory. It saves lives on and off-road, providing an excellent balance of protection, mobility, space and cost that is well proven in service to many nations around the world.
