Underpins Collaborative Familiarisation Solution

At I/ITSEC in Orlando at the end of this month, MetaVR will once again demonstrate how (and why) it consistently punches above its weight. The company will showcase scenarios rendered in its Virtual Reality Scene Generator (VRSG), featuring 3D terrains with fully dynamic shadows. Among the new featured terrains is Virtual Mischief Island.

As it has before, MetaVR will also feature at the centre of a ‘coalition of the competent,’ working with partners TRU Simulation & Training, Battlespace Simulations and Immersive Display Solutions to showcase the Fallon Range Familiarisation Solution, for which the target ranges were built with terrain imagery captured at a 2cm resolution by the company’s own UAS. Featuring a VR headset, a curved-display cockpit simulator and geospecific 3D terrain of the Fallon Range Training Complex (FRTC), this COTS solution “virtualizes the FRTC Inflight Guide for naval aviator range familiarisation, providing a significant increase in flight readiness and savings to military aviation training programmes,” the company told MTSC.
