$95 Million Over 10 Years for IDF

The Israeli MoD has awarded a contract, valued at approx. US$95 million, to Elbit Systems to supply advanced electro-optical (EO) systems to the Israeli Defence Forces (IDF) over the next ten years, the company announced on 16 January.

Under the contract, the company will supply long-range deployable observation systems and tactical target acquisition systems. In addition, the contract includes maintenance services for Elbit’s EO systems. “Our tactical electo-optical systems improve force protection, accuracy and the quick closing of the sensor-to-shooter loop. This contract, which also includes long-term warranty and maintenance services, will significantly increase the upkeep and readiness of our systems in the field,” stated Oren Sabag, General Manager of Elbit Systems ISTAR & EW.
