ELTA-developed Radar Integral to US Procurement of IRON DOME

The Israel Missile Defense Organization (IMDO), a unit of the Ministry of Defense, officially delivered the first Multi-Mission Radar (MMR) to the US Army on 30 September, Israel Aerospace Industries (IAI) announced on 9 November.

Developed and manufactured by IAI subsidiary ELTA Systems, the MMR lies at the heart of the IRON DOME air defence system, for which the United States and Israel signed an agreement to procure two complete batteries in August 2019. The MMR radars delivered under this agreement will be deployed in the defence of US troops against a variety of ballistic and airborne threats.
