$180 Million for Delivery, Operation and Maintenance
The Israeli MoD has awarded a contract valued at approx. $180 million to Elbit Systems to provide, operate and maintain the new Mission Training Centre (MTC) for the Air Force’s F-16 fleet.
To be delivered over a three-year period, the centre will then be operated and maintained for a further 15 years by the company. The existing MTC will be upgraded under the contract, then operated alongside the new facilty, improving training and doubling the number of training sorties for F-16 and F-15 aircrew. The new MTC will include ten simulators with advanced high resolution displays, accurate weapon simulation and Elbit’s arena generator: combined, these enable simulation of both current and future battlefield environments.
“Elbit Systems appreciates the strong partnership and the confidence of the IMoD and the IDF. Armed forces around the world are reshaping their training capabilities while striving to improve combat readiness and efficiency. This contract award emphasises Elbit Systems’ leading position as a provider of advanced mission training systems,” observed Yoram Shmuely, General Manager of Elbit Systems Aerospace.
