Israel Aerospace Industries Unveils HERON TP-XP

New Export Version of Proven UAS
 
Israel Aerospace Industries (IAI) is unveiling the HERON TP-XP long-range, long-endurance UAS at Aero India in Bangalore this week. The latest member of the HERON family, the TP-XP variant is a special export version of the TP, which has been in Israeli Air Force service since 2010. It integrates IAI’s most advanced technologies and offers users a multi-mission, multi-payload strategic asset.
 
Characterised by safety and reliability standards among the highest in the world, HERON TP-XP is capable of operating in extreme weather conditions. It also meets accepted world standards and complies with STANAG 4671. As a member of the HERON family, the commonality of components and operating procedures will benefit existing users seeking to transition capability.
 
Shaul Shahar, IAI EVP and General Manager of the Military Aircraft Group, said: “We are proud to introduce the latest IAI development in the UAV field in India, which is an IAI strategic customer. The Heron TP-XP introduces air supremacy at a higher level than currently exists in India, with an emphasis on double flight speed, high altitude and enhanced payload capability. This system is the latest derivative of the Heron TP, considered to be one of the world’s leading UAVs. The possibility of offering the Heron TP-XP opens up additional opportunities by allowing us to expand the range of solutions we can offer to our customers.
 
IAI has proven expertise in UAS systems, with four decades of experience, 1.5 million cumulative flight hours and over 50 operational clients. The company also has many years’ experience in the Indian market, having established close relationships with local industry and been instrumental in technology and knowledge transfer. HERON TP-XP will be an important element in strengthening this collaboration.
