ISDEF 2019: Smart Shooter SMASHes Small Arms Fire Control

Optical Devices Transform Weapons Capability

Smart Shooter profiled its SMASH family of small arms fire control systems at ISDEF 2019, branding them as delivering smart capability for modern warfare.

Designed to be integrated directly onto small assault rifles, SMASH 2000 is an optical device combining simple-to-install hardware with an in-house advanced image-processing software that can be employed in military, homeland security and law enforcement applications.

The system can be adapted to a range of weapons, overcoming key constraints in modern warfare, such as tactical movement with assault weapons in confined urban areas. The system assists with positional stabilisation, countering static and dynamic targets, reducing collateral damage, as well as optimising shooter ability to rapidly distinguish between backgrounds.

A substantially kinetic solution, SMASH 2000 will track potential UAS threats as well as ground targets using thermal imaging. Once identified and locked, an analytical algorithm develops a firing solution, even if the shooter is moving at the time or has become exhausted – the round will still precisely hit the target, the company claims. Additionally, the SMASH 2000Plus features video and image storage for training and development.
