RPA-200MC Radars and Associated Training for Nigeria

Argentina’s INVAP, in collaboration with UAE-based Jampur International, agreed a contract in March for the delivery of two RPA-200MC mobile primary 3D radars to Nigeria. The contract includes the provision of operator training.

This radar model, in its mobile and civilian version, is the most recent addition to the family of RPA radars developed by INVAP. Its modular design and the distribution of transmitters across the antenna allow it to operate 24/7/365 high availability, minimal preventive maintenance and low logistical and operational costs throughout the life cycle. The system can be operated remotely and integrated with both air traffic management and multi-sensor C2 systems, minimising staffing required. It also make use of advanced software-defined radar techniques, with solid-state gallium arsenide (GaN) amplifiers and an active antenna with digital beam forming.

INVAP’s export achievement to a new African market reinforces its continuing endeavours as a provider of radar technology in the international arena. It is also an important step towards consolidation as a benchmark company in the market for all-purpose critical mission systems.

Jampur International FZE is contracted to provide airport equipment required by the Federal Ministry of Aviation of Nigeria to improve the safety of civil aviation operations.
