Exelitas Qioptiq discusses its range of medium wave infrared continuous zoom camera
At DSEI MONS sat down with Exelitas Qioptiq to discuss their range of medium wave infrared continuous zoom camera: “Currently we have three cameras on stand: JaguIR, JaguIR-L and JaguIR-C. JaguIR is already in production whereas JaguIR-L and JaguIR-C are currently in development and they will be ready by the end of the first quarter of 2018.”
JaguIR is an infrared camera that combines the latest High Operating Temperature (HOT) cooled sensor technology options. Its mean time between failure is over 25,000 hours, and it has a continuous zoom function that allows surveillance of vast areas while achieving significant identification ranges with a focal length of 24 to 326mm and a zoom ratio of x14. “As such the main end-users include border security and coastal control as well as a whole range of MoD applications,” continues Exelitas Qioptiq’s spokesperson.
Currently Exelitas Qioptiq is talking to the UK for the sale of JaguIR cameras, as well as three other unnamed customers. JaguIR can also be mounted on ships.
