Indo Defence 2022: Akaer Presents New Technologies

UAS, Combat Vehicle and Aircraft Modification Programmes

During its participation in Indo Defence 2022 in Jakarta last week, Akaer drew visitor attention to its wide portfolio of solutions, ranging from UAS, such as the Albatross, to aircraft and combat vehicle modernisation programmes, such as that currently in progress for the Brazilian Army’s Cascavel armoured vehicle.

Always keeping an eye on national and international market trends, Akaer is present at important fairs to demonstrate its technological capabilities, foster business and stay on top of news and demands in the segment,”stated Aldo da Silva Junior, VP of Marketing and Sales. “We are prepared to provide solutions [for] air or land platforms, covering the entire development cycle, from conception, design, systems integration, testing and certification”.

Components of the upgrade and modernisation programmes for armoured vehicles typically encompass the provision of new engines, revitalising suspension, improved surveillance, sighting and optronics sensors and installation of missile launchers. The installation of modern ballistic and C2 computers also offers operators the possibility of extending vehicle life and improving combat effectiveness.

The Brazilian company also highlighted its capabilities in aircraft modofication and modernisation – structural alterations, primary mechanisms, new interiors, equipment and systems – for both fixed- and rotary-wing aircraft. It pointed in particular to the work carried out on the Brazilian Air Force’s P-3 Orions – a complete wing revitalisation, prolonging the useful service life of an important platform. Akaer is also developing a jammer aircraft for Turkish Aerospace Industries, for which it is responsible for most of the required modifications.

Akaer’s Albatross UAS, developed for land and naval reconnaissance, is also capable of conducting multiple other miossions, including ground attack. Large internal bays and structural pylons provide adequate payload capacity for both weapons and sensors. It also exhibits an innovative design and long endurance, meeting multiple user demands.
