Enhancements to Terma’s C-GUARD shipborne countermeasures system
Terma has recently announced a series of enhancements to its C-GUARD shipborne countermeasures system. C-GUARD is already in service on the Indonesian Navy’s four DIPONEGORO-class corvettes and will be integrated on the service’s two new PKR-class frigates.
Earlier this year Terma, Chemring, and DCNS conducted joint operational trials of a new semi-automatic torpedo defence functionality for C-GUARD, enabling the launchers to fire the DCNS CANTO anti-torepdo decoy using an embedded CONTRALTO reaction software capability. Conducted on board the Danish frigate RDN IVER HUITFELDT, the successful conclusion of the trials means that C-GUARD is the only 130mm soft-kill weapon system currently fully integrated with CANTO and CONTRALTO, according to Terma.
