$155 Million Requests Receive State Department Approval
The US State Department has informed Congress of approval for potential sales of MK 54 Lightweight Torpedoes (LWT) and AGM-84L HARPOON Block II air-launched missiles and associated equipment to India under the Foreign Military Sales (FMS) programme.
The Indian government has requested 10 HARPOONs and associated support, personnel training, training systems and airlift missions, at an estimated cost of $92 million (€84.9 million) and 16 LWTs, three MK 54 exercise torpedoes and related equipment at an estimated cost of $63 million.
Principal contractors will be Boeing (HARPOON) and Raytheon Integrated Defense Systems (MK 54).
