India Requests C-17 Sustainment Follow-On Support

$670 Million to Support Fleet

The US Defense Security Cooperation Agency informed Congress on 26 July of a potential sale of C-17 sustainment follow-on support services to India, at an estimated price of $670 million (€607 million).

The Indian government has requested equipment for C-17 follow-on support, to include spares and repair parts; support equipment; personnel training and training equipment; publications and technical documentation; support and test equipment; US government and contractor engineering, technical and logistical support services; and other related elements of logistics and programme support. The prime contractor will be Boeing Corporation, Chicago, IL.

India needs this follow-on support to maintain its operational readiness and ability to provide Humanitarian Assistance and Disaster Relief (HA/DR) assistance in the region. India will have no difficulty absorbing this support into its armed forces.
