I/ITSEC 2018: Rockwell Collins Launch Two New Solutions

Enabling ‘Readiness Without Boundaries’

At I/ITSEC in Orlando next week, Rockwell Collins will introduce the next-generation of its industry-leading fast-jet simulator display system and a new product that allows for secure data-flow over unsecured networks.

In order to maximise training effectiveness, it’s essential to have scalable, immersive, realistic, seamless and secure training environments,” commented Vice President and General Manager of Simulation & Training Solutions for Rockwell Collins, Nick Gibbs. “The products we’re unveiling and showcasing at the show do just that – so our customers can meet their training objectives without the boundaries they traditionally face.”

Interactive demonstrations will include:
• Live, Virtual and Constructive-enabled training – comprehensive, interoperable, secure and available today;
• COALESCENCE mixed reality system – portable, highly immersive mixed reality training for all platform domains;
• Integrated Digital Vision System (IDVS) – wearable, head-up, digitally augmented vision with infrared, night vision and symbology for 24/7 visual situational awareness dominance;
• Enhanced Reality Vision System (ERV-30) – affordable, adaptive, next-generation wearable augmented reality.

Also featured will be:
• Affordable training efficacy – immersive training environments, distance-learning solutions and training effectiveness research;
• EP-8100 image generation system – delivering unprecedented realism and performance while preserving your investment, all backed by the most image generation systems installed and channel count-in use;
• WholeEarth synthetic environment – highest-resolution, complete earth visual database in the industry.

Company subject matter experts will also present a number of research papers covering important topics in the training and simulation industry. A submission by Jeanette Ling, principal software engineer for Rockwell Collins, titled “Understanding Cloud-based Visual Systems Architecture,” is in the running for the Best Paper award.
