Designed by Soldiers for Soldiers
Announced by a spokesperson for the Israeli Defence Forces (IDF) as part of the forces’ annual work plan, additional quantities of Israel Weapon Industries’ (IWI – an SK Group company) Micro-TAVOR X95 assault rifle are to be procured for issue to infantry units.
The decision was made taking into consideration such significant parameters as mission requirements in today’s battlespace and commonality of equipment between active duty and reserve units. The Micro-TAVOR was designed in close cooperation with elite units of the IDF, and was tailored to their specific requirements. The rifle incorporates advanced technologies, enabling conversion between calibres to be achieved within minutes – meaning a wide variety of missions, including those involving special operations forces, can be conducted with minimal disruption and with commonality of support infrastructure.
With an effective range of 500m. Micro-TAVOR is ideally suited to both urban and field combat and is exceptionally reliable, even when subjected to the harshest weather conditions. The combat proven riddle is now the standard IDF rifle and is in service with multiple armed forces and law enforcement agencies around the world.
“IWI works closely with its worldwide customer base, providing solutions that are designed to meet their specific needs […] The Micro-TAVOR is one of the most popular weapons of its category in the world – a success based on its exceptional effectiveness and reliability. We continue to develop a range of new configurations and applications, in order to ensure its effectiveness in the widest possible range of situations and field requirements,” stated Ronen Hamudot, EVP Marketing & Sales.
