11 Deals Valued at $600 Million Signed on Last Day
The combined value of contracts signed by Tawazun Council on behalf of the UAE MoD and the Abu Dhabi Police during IDEX and NAVDEX 2023 amounted to AED23.34 billion (US$6.36 billion), according to a statement from the Council on 24 February.
Contracts signed on the final day of the exhibitions totaled AED2.2 billion for 11 deals – seven with local companies for AED1.6 billion, four with international firms totaling AED653 million. (Note: conversion rate 25 February US$1/AED3.67):
Local companies
- ESE – two contracts of AED799 million and AED14 million for ammunition;
- Etimad Strategic Security Solutions – AED612 million for technical support for border security systems;
- AM Industries – AED 46 million to provide guard rooms;
- Aman Marine Engineering – AED43 million for vessel technical support, maintenance and spares supply;
- Falcon Eye Technology – AED 3 million for security system technical support and repair services;
- Tawazun Technology and Innovation – AED101 million for procuring multiple rocket launchers from Hanwha Aerospace and the provision of local support services.
International companies
- MBDA (France) – AED198 million for datalink equipment;
- Euro-Art International – AED90 million for radar technical support;
- Saab (Sweden) – AED108 million for GlobalEye 6000 maintenance services;
- Rohde & Schwarz (Germany) – AED59 million for telecommunications supply and installation;
- CETC International (China) – AED198 million for telecommunications supply and installation.
