FN Herstal will be showcasing some of its latest innovations to meet rapidly-evolving mission needs at IDEX 2021 in Abu Dhabi next week.
The company’s land and marine portfolio now includes highly modular systems designed around its machineguns, from 5.56mm NATO to .50 calibre. The M3M WM (weapon mount) is a dedicated device for the M3M .50 calibre weapon, offering exceptional accuracy. It is the only qualified mount for use with the M3M/GAU-21 .50 calibre machinegun. Key benefits include:
- Fully mechanical operation (no electrical power required);
- Mk16 MOD 8 type 0.5in large pintle interface as standard;
- Buffered system reduces transmitted recoil forces;
- 300-round ammunition box;
- Distinct firing triggers for left- or right-hand operation;
- Elevation +60°/-20°;
- Three Picatinny rails;
- Optional front armour shield providing ballistic protection up to STANAG Level IV;
- Fully qualified weapon system to MIL-STD-810.
The Light MWM (Multi Weapon Mount) accepts any FN Herstal machine gun in 5.56 or 7.62mm calibre and provides operators with the following key benefits:
- Fully mechanical operation (no electrical power required);
- NATO G3 cone interface as standard;
- Buffered system to reduce transmitted recoil forces;
- Rapid configuration change;
- Elevation +50°/ -60°;
- Lightweight: 8.5kg;
- Fully qualified to MIL-STD-810.
Options include a link/case collector (250- or 500-round capacity); a depression angle limiter; ammunition pouch interfaces; and platform-specific interface sleeves.
