Additional Focus on Extended Range Artillery Munitions
EXPAL Systems will be drawing visitor attention to its Dual-EIMOS 81mm mortar system on its booth at IDEX 2021 in Abu Dhabi this week.
One of the key user-tailored solutions that has characterised EXPAL’s development over the last year, Dual-EIMOS is a state-of-the-art 81mm mortar system mounted on a 4×4 light tactical vehicle, which can ford water obstacles up to 1.5m deep without preparation, among other advanced capabilities. It can be used in association with TECHFIRE, EXPAL’s fire support information system and has automatic fire control, an integrated, interoperable command and control system and a 360° ‘shoot and scoot’ capability.
As part of its technology leadership in mortar system integration capabilities, EXPAL has recently begun development of a guidance kit for 120mm mortars that could ultimately be scalable to 155mm artillery shells.
The company will also be emphasising at IDEX its complete Extended Range 155mm field artillery family, featuring ranges up to 40km and built to the most demanding NATO standards. For naval forces, EXPAL will showcase its 76mm and 5″/127mm proximity-fuzed munitions, enhancing air defence capabilities, specifically against sea skimming missiles.
