IDEX 2021: Escribano to Showcase GUARDIAN 30 RWS

Flexible 30/40mm Stabilised System

The GUARDIAN 30 remote weapon station (RWS) from Escribano Mechanical & Engineering will be on prominent display at IDEX 2021 in Abu Dhabi next week.

Designed specifically for the Spanish Army’s DRAGÓN 6×6 AFV, the two-axis stabilised RWS has undergone static and moving tests on a PIRANHA and is now ready to enter the international market, the company announced on 18 February. Modular and extremely lightweight in comparison with its competition, GUARDIAN 30 carries the ATK Orbital Mk44S 30mm cannon, with a 40mm option, as currently integrated on the naval SENTINEL 30 mount in Peruvian service and soon to be in Spanish Navy service.

The latest technologies provide GUARDIAN 30 operators with long-range accuracy, supported by Escribano’s OTEOS electro-optical systems technology, widely used by military and security agencies worldwide. The sensors allow for operations in all weather conditions, by day and night. The system also features an embedded simulation system for rapid and effective gunnery training.

It counts with the latest technology in ballistic calculation achieving a long range shooting accuracy. The shooting system is assisted by two next-gen electro-optical systems based in the well-known OTEOS electro-optical system technology developed by ESCRIBANO. This system is widely used by Armies and State Security Bodies and Forces around the world for surveillance and military operations.

The most advanced sensors and cameras allow GUARDIAN 30 to operate in all weather conditions whether day or night missions, increasing its capabilities for detection, recognition, surveillance, and accuracy. This electro-optical system, in addition, is suitable for hunter-killer type missions. RWS GUARDIAN 30 counts with embedded simulation for best and fast gunner training.

As well as GUARDIAN 30, visitors to the Escribano booth at IDEX will be able to view at first hand the ASPIS RWS – the lightest such system currently available – and the FGK system, which provides guidance for rockets and artillery rounds.
