Up to 18 South African Companies to Exhibit
The South African defence industry will use IDEX 2017 in Abu Dhabi next week to reaffirm the serious nature of its assault on the lucrative regional market, with no less than 18 companies slated to exhibit, led by state-owned Denel and the Paramount Group, the nation’s largest privately-held defence contractor.
Denel, which owes almost 60% of its revenues to exports, will undoubtedly be looking to further strengthen existing relationships with Middle Eastern buyers, who know the company’s range of AFVs, artillery and munitions well. Paramount is also likely to exhibit a number of its AFVs and Mönch understands its stand will also feature the armed version of its Advanced High Performance Reconnaissance Light Aircraft (AHRLAC).
Other companies exhibiting in the South African pavilion at IDEX include Canvas and Tent, Cliff’s Way, Cochrane Steel, DCD Group, Desert Wolf Consulting, Gelvenor, Reutech Communications, Rippel Effect, Stepahead Military Headgear, and Tellumat, with a variety of products and services ranging from perimeter defence solutions to fabric and textiles engineering.
