Force Protection at its Best
HESCO is well known for protection around the world. They protected field camps and forward operation bases for example in Afghanistan and Iraq. Now they are upgrading their blast protection with new technologies to offer a solution for the actual requirements and mission.
The TERRABLOCK family is integrating anti-personal and anti-climbing features to the well know blast and anti-ballistic protection. If needed even with the possibility to detect and engage enemies. Sensors can be integrated in the physical barriers. These solutions can protect camps as well as be used for border control and protection. Or be used for crowd control in urban environments.
Lighting systems, day/night reconnaissance sensors, cameras and radars can be implemented in addition. All for permanent or semi-permanent installations. The TERRABLOCK family is offered in there different versions: XR, XS, XT. TERRABLOCK XR is a ground-mounted, redeployable security fence that combines the concept of the CONCERTAINER system with anti-climb mesh. The design allows the fence to be stored and transported flat, while the use of standard bulk bags, filled with ballast (e.g. sand), provide a protection that meets PAS 68 vehicle impact. All without foundations or a sub-surface fixing. XR is available in different lengths and heights, up to the height of 3.6 metres. XT includes the HESCO geotextile lining. The goal is the same, just the appearance and heights (3 and 4 m) are different. On top razor wire can be installed. XS is a hostile vehicle mitigation barrier. As an option a perimeter intrusion detection system (PIDS) can be integrated. It also uses the anti-climb face and razor wire as an option on the top. Heights are three or four meters.
In the next months HESCO will also show a new anti-ram crash fence, which is in its final development face. Also new is a family of body armour plates. At the moment HESCO is only offering the plates, some are still under development.
But there are plans to go further and also offer plate carriers, helmets, or parts for future soldier systems, etc. The plates are designed and produced in the US, and certificated up to level NIJ IV. The HESCO body armour line is devided in five family members, from 100 series (full range trauma and side plates), series 200 (low visibility, concealable pistol and rifle plates), 300 (protection for active shooter events , lvl III/III+/IV), 600 (for SWAT and tactical teams, lvl III/III+/IV) and series 800 (for Special Forces and fast moving tactical units, lvl III/III+/IV).
