New Dual-Mode Rocket Motor Tested for First Time
Developed to meet the low- and medium-altitude air defence needs of the Turkish Armed Forces, the HISAR family of air defence missiles continues to successfully pass intensive development and test phases en route to final qualification. In this context, the latest test firing of the medium range HISAR-O was conducted in December, witnessed by Fikri Isik, the Minister of National Defence. Continuing its programmed manoeuvres after it was fired and following the firing of its second pulse rocket motor in mid-air, the missile completed its flight with 100% success. This test launch marked the first use of the dual-mode propulsion rocket motor.
With its common subsystems and missile interface, the HISAR family is preparing to play a decisive role in the air defence field in coming years. “The HISAR Air Defence Missile Family is being developed to include the latest technology in all its subsystems, particularly in the areas of guidance, fuses, warheads and rocket motors.
