The systems will allow Thailand’s patrol vessels to operate in challenging conditions
Israel Aerospace Industries (IAI) will supply six of its advanced Sea Mini-POP sensor payloads to the Royal Thai Navy as part of the first contract between the two parts. IAI’s solutions will enhance the Navy’s patrol vessels’ capabilities to operate in challenging conditions.
The Sea MiniPOP is a multi-sensor payload for day/night observation systems built for maritime applications. The system is designed to meet harsh environmental conditions such as shock, vibration from waves, and extreme temperatures. The payload provides real-time imaging, automatic video tracking, and precise target geo-location capabilities that can be used as a stand-alone EO/IR observation system on small/medium-size vessels or as a part of Naval RCWS.
It is a dual-axis, gyro-stabilized payload designed as a single Line Replaceable Unit (LRU) carrying up to four sensors and based on an open architecture. The basic configuration includes a continuous zoom colour day camera and a thermal imaging camera. A laser pointer, an eye-safe laser range finder and an automatic tracker can be incorporated for enhanced capabilities and functionality. The Sea MiniPOP can be easily connected and integrated into any C4I or be operated with IAI’s control system.
IAI will provide close and personal support to the customer through a cost-effective ILS package tailored to its needs to ensure the required availability.
Boaz Levy, IAI’s President and CEO said: “The recent transactions by IAI serve as a testament to the company’s impactful collaborations on the global stage, underscoring the trust that nations worldwide place in IAI’s innovative solutions, positioned at the forefront of technology. We take pride in sustaining the company’s economic growth trajectory while steadfastly standing beside the IDF and security forces, dedicated to serving our customers during both times of conflict and routine operations.”
