Combined Australian Response to Growing International Demand
DroneShield and xReality Group (XRG) have partnered to provide solutions for eXtended Reality (XR) counter-UAS training.
XR embraces virtual, augmented and mixed reality (VR/AR/MR), combining physical and digital simulation for defence and civil applications. In the defence and law enforcements sectors, the rapidly-growing XR market is predicted to grow to $16 billion by 2027, according to DroneShield.
XRG subsidiary Operator Tactical Solutions develops immersive planning, rehearsal and training solutions for the international military and law enforcement markets. The company will be showing its solutions at I/ITSEC 2022 in Orlando next week.
“As the counterdrone industry continues to rapidly grow and develop, evidenced by significant use of small drones by both side in the Ukraine war, there is an emergent need for counterdrone tactics and training packages for the system operators,” commented DroneShield CEO, Oleg Vornik.
“Today’s battlefield is evolving quickly, making it difficult for front line defenders to be prepared for all situations. Operator’s solutions are enabling defence and law enforcement to rapidly train for these new situations in realistic, virtual environments,” added Wayne Jones, CEO at XRG.
