Insitu has awarded CAE USA a contract to provide SCANEAGLE RPA instructors for Insitu’s training centre in White Salmon, WA/USA, complementing Insitu’s existing instructor cadre and provide classroom and simulator instruction for SCANEAGLE operators.

Saab has signed a contract with SIMMAD (integrated structure for the operational maintenance of the aeronautics equipment of the French MoD) for spare parts and support contract for GIRAFFE AMB. The contract is for an ordering period of 17 months and a performance period of 34 months, commencing in August, and includes obsolescence management.

The USAF has exercised the option for the seventh year of aircrew training services provided by CAE USA as the prime contractor on the KC-135 Aircrew Training System (ATS) programme. CAE USA will continue to provide classroom and simulator instruction as well as upgrades, maintenance, and support of all KC-135 aircrew training devices.

Argon has received the first PlumeSIM order for the Middle East region as part of a contract that also includes a number of training simulators, following an earlier delivery of Chemical Warfare training simulators to the same customer, that were used in a national CBRN exercise and led to an investment in additional Argon simulators.

The US Navy has exercised the option for the third full-year of comprehensive T-44C aircrew training services provided at Naval Air Station (NAS) Corpus Christi, TX/USA. CAE USA provides T-44C aircrew training services under a contractor-owned, contractor-operated training programme. CAE is providing academic and simulator training for approximately 600 US Navy, USMC, Coast Guard, and international students who annually go through the Navy’s T-44C training programme.

VirTra has received its third and fourth orders for delivery of law enforcement simulators under the previously announced IDIQ contract by the US Department of State (DOS) that could result in up to $40 million in revenue for law enforcement training simulator equipment and services over the order period, which expires in April 2021. These will consist of both multi and single screen training simulators, related accessories and training for three additional locations in Mexico and six new location in Costa Rica.

Rotorsim, the joint venture owned equally by CAE and Leonardo‘s helicopter division, has awarded CAE a contract to provide long-term maintenance and support services on a range of helicopter simulators located at the Rotorsim Training Centre, which is part of the A. Marchetti Training Academy in Sesto Calende, Italy, as well as an AW189 simulator located in Aberdeen, Scotland.

The US Naval Air Warfare Center Training Systems Division (NAWCTSD) awarded Adacel Systems a contract for the provision of Air Traffic Navigation, Integration, and Coordination System (ATNAVICS) training simulators, which will be used to provide training to USMC Air Traffic Control detachments, providing individual radar ATC training using speech recognition and/or pseudo-pilot capabilities along with the ability to create, edit and save training scenarios.

The US Army PEO STRI contracted Kratos Defense & Security Solutions, partnering with Robonic (a subsidiary of Safran Electronics & Defense) to supply two KONTIO launchers, which will be used to launch the CEi (a Kratos company) FIREJET high-performance aerial targets.

Saab has received the first order, under a two-year agreement recently signed with the General Tadeusz Kosciuszko Military Academy of Land Forces in Wroclaw (WSOWL), Poland, to deliver a high fidelity Tactical Engagement Simulation System (TESS). This initial order will provide future officers with technically advanced training system, which offers interoperability options within NATO and beyond, whilst providing the capacity for long-term system growth.

Following the delivery of a NAUTIS-class Full Mission Bridge Simulator and a RescueSim Incident Command Simulator in 2014, the Nikola Vaptsarov Naval Academy has selected VSTEP again to deliver and install a Liquid Cargo Handling Simulator with an Instructor Station, a NAUTIS DNV Class A Full Mission Bridge Simulator (FMBS), with 240° FOV, and a NI Accredited NAUTIS DP Class A FMBS, with an 180° FOV including instructor stations at the new simulation centre.

On 20 October, Airbus Defence & Space (DS) and Rheinmetall officially transferred the Cargo Hold Trainer – Enhanced (CHT-E) for the A400M transport plane to the RAF. Airbus contracted Rheinmetall to supply training simulators to several European Air Forces for Europe’s A400M aircraft.
