I/ITSEC 2016: Cubic Highlights Integrated Training Environments with Synthetic Wrap Demonstration

Cubic Global Defense showcases live, virtual and constructive training capabilities with in-booth demonstration
Cubic Global Defense (CGD), a business unit of Cubic Corporation, today announced it will perform live training demonstrations of its Synthetic Wrap capability at booth #1549.

During the five-day event, Cubic will showcase its approach to the Live-Virtual-Constructive (LVC) and integrated training environments with live, in-booth demonstrations of its Synthetic Wrap solution. Synthetic Wrap blurs the boundaries between the live and virtual environments; live trainees who are instrumented, using Cubic’s tactical engagement system, are injected into the digital world while on a training exercise, which also integrates live and virtual, friendly and opposing forces. The trainees, who are now shown on digital training terrain, can be tracked and attacked from a virtual unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV), close air support (CAS) platform or any live or virtual artillery within range.

Cubic Defence UK has been leveraging this Synthetic Wrap capability for Micro-SCOPIC, the British Army’s Collective Training Synthetic Wrap programme, since earlier this year as the sole provider in Canada, Kenya and the UK.

The nature of contemporary operations is changing how the missions are fought, and modern tactical training systems must be able to meet both the kinetic and cognitive elements of hybrid warfare in order to deliver the training needs of an increasingly diverse and specialized audience,” Dave Buss, President of Cubic Global Defense, said. “Cubic’s Synthetic Wrap is an emerging training technology using game-based technology and expeditionary Long-Term Evolution (LTE) networks, to ensure that the hard-to-train warfighters and complex military capabilities can, for the first time, play an integrated role in training and accreditation at the individual, team and collective levels.”
Cubic will showcase its instrument live training capabilities with state-of-the-art tactical simulation solutions at the following dates and times in booth #1549:
Monday, November 28: 3:00-3:30 p.m. and 4:30-5:00 p.m. (local time)
Tuesday, November 29: 1:00-1:30 p.m., 3:00-3:30 p.m., and 5:00-5:30 p.m. (local time)
Wednesday, November 30: 10:30-11:00 a.m., 1:00-1:30 p.m., and 4:00-4:30 p.m. (local time)
Thursday, November 31: 10:30-11:00 a.m., 12:30-1:00 p.m., and 2:00-2:30 p.m. (local time)

During the in-booth demonstration, Cubic will be streaming live video feeds from Cubic’s UK training facility allowing anyone with a smart device to observe the exercise via web link (http://scopicuk.ddns.net/WEBDirector/CUBIC/OMMainDemo.aspx).
