Lockheed Martin Selected for Exclusive Negotiations
On 7 July, Lockheed Martin announced that it has been selected by the Polish Armament Group (PGZ) for “exclusive further negotiations” to develop the Polish HOMAR programme on the basis of the company’s High Mobility Artillery Rocket Suystem (HIMARS).
HIMARS delivers accurate, lethal, quick-strike munitions at ranges from 15-300km from highly mobile platforms. Lockheed Martin is manufacturing HIMARS for the US Army, US Marine Corps and international customers, including Jordan, Singapore and the United Arab Emirates. In addition to Poland, other nations that have considered acquisition of HIMARS include Canada, Qatar and Spain.
The PGZ-Lockheed Martin partnership will develop defence technology modernisation in Poland via technology transfer, in-country production and manufacturing as well as future development and modernisation.
