Part of Service Life Extension Programme
The integration process for the HENSOLDT TRS-4D multi-function surveillance and target acquisition radar onboard the Chilean Navy’s Type 23 ASW frigate ALMIRANTE LYNCH has now been completed.
A key component of the modernisation programme for the frigate that began in June 2019, work was halted in August then resumed at Asmar’s Talcahuano shipyard at the end of the year. The ALMIRANTE LYNCH is one of three Type 23s in Chilean service, for which a modernisation of the C2, tactical radar and point air defence systems will contribute to extending their service life by a further 20 years.
