New Airborne Surveillance Radar Offers High Precision and Simple Integration
HENSOLDT new airborne multi-mission surveillance radar PrecISR has successfully passed factory acceptance tests, the company announced on 10 March.
In an online demonstration, the PrecISR 1000 proved its capabilities to QinetiQ GmbH, following a contract award about a year ago to deliver a PrecISR 1000 to be installed in a Pilatus PC-12 modified as a special mission aircraft. The radar data are controlled and displayed by a HENSOLDT EuroNav7 mission system, which is already in operation.
PrecISR translates the latest achievements in active array and digital receiver technology into a scalable, high-performance sensor, which can be installed aboard many kinds of aircraft. Due to its software-defined radar modes and electronic beam steering, PrecISR can fulfil different tasks virtually simultaneously and is able to detect, track and classify thousands of objects. Because of its compact design and the location of all components outside the airframe, platform integration is simplified significantly, compared to other radars. Its superior precision and target accuracy make it the sensor of choice for surveillance of large sea and coastal areas against piracy, trafficking or illicit intrusion.
