Two K130-class Corvettes and an Associated Shore Facility
HENSOLDT is modernising the TRS-3D radars for two K130-class corvettes of the German Navy and an associated shore facility, the company announced on 15 February. Delivery of the upgraded capability will be completed before year end.
The radar is a 3D multimode naval radar for air and sea surveillance, which correlates position and movement data of targets in conjunction with the HENSOLDT MSSR 2000 I identification system, thus improving the automatic identification of ships and aircraft.
TRS-3D is the global market leader in its class, with more than 60 radars in service with navies and coastguards worldwide. In addition to K130 corvettes, it appears on the US Coast Guard’s National Security Cutters, a number of US Navy Littoral Combat Ships, and ships of the Finnish Navy and the Norwegian Coast Guard.
