New technologies to detect threats on ground, at sea and in the air
Hensoldt is currently developing an innovative airborne multi-mission surveillance radar, which will provide armed forces and border protection authorities with situational awareness and short reaction times. The software-defined Multi-Channel X-Band-Radar, PrecISR translates latest achievements in active array and digital receiver technology into a scaleable high-performance sensor that can be installed aboard helicopters, unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV) and fixed-wing special mission aircraft. The radar’s precision and target accuracy make it a sensor of choice for surveillance of large sea and coastal areas against piracy, trafficking or illicit intrusion.

Due to its software-defined radar modes and electronic beam steering, PrecISR can fulfil different tasks virtually at the same time. It is able to detect, track and classify thousands of objects and thus literally find the ‘needle in a haystack.’ Because of its compact design and the fact that all power consuming parts are located outside of the airframe, the airborne platform integration of PrecISR is simplified significantly compared to other radars, according to the company.
PrecISR has been designed for all types of airborne surveillance missions in 24/7 operation and in all weather conditions to ensure safety and security and to detect conventional and asymmetric threats on the ground, at sea and in the air. Its state-of-the-art sensor with gallium nitride (GaN) active electronically scanned array (AESA) antenna and two- dimensional e-scan capability enables precision in target detection.
