HENSOLDT Grows Despite Pandemic Effects

400 New Jobs Planned Across German Sites

Not every company is using the effects of the pandemic to explain holes in previous plans or false assumptions about growth. Sensor specialist HENSOLDT announced on 31 August that – in support of contracts worth billions of euros, including the development of a new radar for the Eurofighter TYPHOON – 400 new jobs are planned at the Group’s German sites. This year, around 150 new employees are to be recruited across all business areas.

HENSOLDT remains on course for growth even during the Corona crisis,” confirmed Peter Fieser, Chief Human Resources Officer. “We are working in the high-tech area of sensor technology in a rapidly growing, very long-term business. But we also want to continue to position ourselves in the most attractive markets worldwide.”

Recently, the Bundestag approved the €1.5+ billion development of the new Eurofighter radar by a consortium led by HENSOLDT. Other Group business units are also showing strong growth, such as ground and naval radars, electronic warfare and avionics systems, and optronic devices. In order to adapt its capacities to the increased demand, the company is also investing in the further expansion of its sites – for example, the recent expansion of clean room production at the Oberkochen site by 300 m² and current plans for an aircraft radar integration centre at Ulm. New recruits will have a variety of qualifications: in addition to hardware and software engineers, radar systems engineers and project managers are particularly sought after.
