Two More TRML-4D Will Strengthen Air Defence
Hensoldt is to deliver two more TRML-4D air surveillance radars to strengthen Ukrainian air defence within the next three months. These are additional to the four systems already contracted last year as part of the Iris-T SLM air defence network for Ukraine.
“This contract conclusion is not least due to the excellent operational results that have been reported back from the deployment in the country, further strengthening Ukraine’s defence capability. The radars for Ukrainian air defence protect lives, and we are proud to be able to deliver much needed equipment at short notice,” commented Hensoldt CEO, Thomas Müller.
TRML-4D uses AESA technology with multiple digitally-shaped beams and is capable of detecting, tracking and classifying a variety of aerial targets, with an emphasis on small, fast and low-flying and/or manoeuvring cruise missiles and aircraft. It can cope with the rapid detection and tracking of about 1,500 targets within a 250km radius.
