Wide Range of Supporting Capabilities Also on Show
Rafael is showcasing a broad range of capabilities at HEMUS 2022, but prominent in its exhibit is an approach to Bulgaria’s 8×8 combat vehicle programme, for which it offers a complete package of systems that enable and enhance survivability, manoeuvrability and lethality.
A core component is the Samson 30mm integrated RWS, addressing modern battlefield threats with a combination of advanced, reliable, and effective solutions, including potential integration of Spike LR-1 and -2 multi-purpose missiles. Samson features: the capability to locate sources of fire; to effectively return fire; faster, more accurate slew-to-cue; a unified user interface for all subsystems; a hatch for close situational awareness; and under-armour ammunition storage.
The company will also present a number of systems that have proven their capabilities in service with European and NATO partners:
- Spyder air defence system – now being integrated into NATO via the Czech Republic;
- Spike missile family – being manufactured in Europe;
- BNET family of software-defined radios;
- Advanced Vehicle Integrated Combat Systems (A-VICS);

- C-Dome air and missile defence system;
- Torbuster 4th-generation naval decoy and defence system;
- Vessel Protection Suite (VPS) – integrated soft and hard kill solutions for maritime vessels;
- Coastal Defence Solution – AI-based connectivity and communications solution.
