Karel Supply Field Exchanges to Bangladesh
Karel Electronics has revealed that the company’s DS200T Portable Tactical IP (Internet Protocol) Communications System is in service with the armed forces of Bangladesh.
The company is exhibiting at the Bangkok Defence and Security exhibition being held in the city 6-9 November. The firm added that the DS200T can accept a wide array of tactical communications systems including conventional very high frequency and ultra high frequency radios, high frequency transceivers, field telephones, secure cell phones and strategic and operational satellite communications systems; the latter of which can provide long distance links to other headquarters or to national command authorities.
Officials from the company stressed that Bangladesh represented a challenging environment for tactical communications, due to the quantity of tall vegetation such as trees which can obscure line-of-sight communications. In addition to Bangladesh, the company stated that the product is in service with the Thai armed forces.
