Three Vessels Delivered 2010-2011
In Puerto Cabello, Venezuela, state-owned Diques y Astilleros Nacionales CA (DIANCA – National Docks and Shipyards) has tested the engines of the fourth GUAICAMACUTO-class patrol vessel, under construction in the yard for the Venezuelan Navy.
The vessel, christened COMANDANTE ETERNO HUGO CHAVEZ and designated as a Buques de Vigilancia Litoral or Coastal Surveillance Vessel, is the last of four AVANTE 1400-class vessels ordered from Navantia in November 2005. The first three, built by Navantia in Cadiz, were delivered 2010-2011 while the fourth (originally named TAMANACO) has yet to be completed.
