Government-to-Government Deal Valued at $370 Million
The Hellenic MoD has ordered Rafael Spike missiles to the value of approx. €370 million (US$403 million) from Israel, where the agreement was led by SIBAT, the Israeli MoD’s International Defence Cooperation Directorate.
The government-to-government agreement covers supply of missiles and associated support for air, land and naval applications. “This project joins a series of agreements between the State of Israel and the Hellenic Republic, and further emphasises the strong partnership between our countries and our defence establishments, as well as our mutual commitment to ensuring regional stability,” commented Israeli Defence Minister, Yoav Gallant. Director General of the Israeli MoD, Eyal Zamir, added “This agreement […] is part of a series of agreements worth billions of shekels which we have signed in the last two years, including the recent update of the Greek Air Force Pilot Training Center’s capabilities”.
The Spike family of innovative anti-tank missiles incorporates advanced technology, and can be launched from a multitude of platforms. Some 40 countries are already operators of Spike missiles, and over 34,000 missiles have been delivered to date, with 6,000 having been launched both in training and in operations.
