Reinforces Strong Franco-Greco Relations
Greece confirmed its intention to procure the Dassault Aviation RAFALE combat aircraft on 12 September, illustrating the strength of the relationship between nation and airframer that has lasted for over 45 years, as well as the enduring strategic relationship between Greece and France. MON understands the Greek Air Force has requested 18 RAFALEs.
Greece ordered 40 MIRAGE F1 from Dassault in 1974, 40 MIRAGE 2000 in 1985 and finally 15 MIRAGE 2000-5 in 2000; this latest contract also includes the modernization of 10 MIRAGE 2000 to the 2000-5 standard, with a significant contribution from Greek industry.
