IAI and Honeywell Propose a Jointly Developed System
Israel Aerospace Industries (IAI) and Honeywell recently signed a Teaming Agreement (TA) to introduce the market of airborne avionics with a jointly developed turnkey GPS Anti-Jam navigation system. The joint product integrates IAI’s GPS Anti-Jam system with Honeywell’s navigation products, as a subsystem or as an embedded solution. Upon successful development, IAI’s GPS anti jamming system, called ADA, an advanced system that protects avionic systems from GPS jamming, will be embedded into Honeywell’s Global Positioning System/Inertial Navigation System (EGI).
Modern navigation, communications and intelligence collection and electronic warfare systems integrated in modern platforms, rely on the uninterrupted availability of satellite-based navigation and timing for their operation. Despite this dependency, most platforms do not use any counter measure systems to protect those essential assets. Remaining exposed, even low-power jammers can disrupt or even deny the operation of GNSS systems, thus degrading the platform’s capability to fulfill its mission.
As a result of contracts signed over the past year, the GPS Anti-Jam Navigation System has been sold to a number of customers and is already operational.

ADA is an advanced turnkey solution that hardens avionic systems against GPS jamming. This operationally proven system guarantees the operational continuity of the aircraft fleet, by ensuring the availability of GPS- and GNSS-based navigation, communication, and EW systems even under direct, electronic attack from GPS jammers or other methods of interference. ADA’s modular architecture supports multi-GNSS and GPS M-Code. It can be provisioned as either an integrated immune GNSS receiver or as a completely independent add-on by radio frequency connection to any third party GNSS receiver.
ADA units employ rugged design which offers high reliability (high MTBF) and low life-cycle-cost. The ADA suite includes a complete end-to-end simulation and validation environment which allows our customers to rigorously test their solution performance in challenging GNSS-jammed scenarios.
ADA has already been integrated into several systems and platforms operating both in Israel and abroad. In 2017 it won a tender from Israel’s Ministry of Defense, for integration into one of the main platforms of the Israel Air Force.
