MIMO MANET solutions exhibited at GPEC
Broadcast Solutions GmbH were exhibiting Silvus Technologies’ Streamcaster-4200 MANET (Mobile Ad Hoc Networking) handheld tactical radio at this year’s GPEC police equipment exhibition being held Frankfurt between 20th and 22nd February.
The radio uses a ROIP (Radio Over Internet Protocol) approach across a 600 megahertz to six gigahertz waveband and is capable of handling data rates of up to 100 megabits per second using MIMO (Multiple Input/Multiple Output) protocols. Such data rates give the radio the ability to handle video as well as voice communications and data using the radio’s Silvus proprietary waveform. With four watts of output power, up to 20 users can be supported on a single Silvus network with the radio also including 256 bit encryption.
