Four Python Systems to be Delivered by 2025
General Dynamics European Land Systems (GDELS) will deliver four Python bridge systems to Georgia as part of the German government’s Enable and Enhance initiative, the company announced on 22 June.
Each mounted on an 8×8 vehicle With a palletised load system, the four bridge systems are to be delivered over the next two years. Developed as a bridge for rapid emplacement for light and medium-weight forces, Python can bridge obstacles up to 13m for MLC 50-class vehicles. Constructed of high tensile aluminium, the bridge is air transportable and intended for use in both military and disaster relief applications.
Germany’s Enable and Enhance initiative is aimed at investment in both military and civil environments in nations threatened by crisis, strengthening their ability to prevent and/or manage latent conflict.
