GD Mission Systems at Modern Day Marine

Wide Range of Virtual Demonstrations and SME Discussions

Rising to the challenge of contributing to the continued excellence of Modern Day Marine as a venue for demonstrations, discussions and debate, General Dynamics Mission Systems (GDMS) is participating in MDM Virtual Experience this week with a comprehensive electronic booth, inside which will be multiple product demonstrations for Marines, coupled to the ability to chat with subject matter experts via a live ZoomGov meeting.

Technology issues up for discussion include:

The Tactical Electronic Warfare System (TEWS), a dedicated all-weather, 24-hour, ground-based tactical electronic support and electronic attack system that provides commanders with options to create multiple dilemmas for hostile forces by decreasing sensor-to-shooter timeline. TEWS will enable a Brigade Combat Team commander to detect, locate and identify the enemy, offering him the capability to act/react/counter with non-lethal effects by denying, disrupting, and degrading the enemy’s ability to communicate, coordinate, and synchronize. TEWS is platform-independent; a modular system that will integrate onto any vehicle. TEWS supports stationary, dismounted, and on-the-move, man-pack operations;

GDMS’ Advanced Vetronic Systems deliver a technological advantage through mission-critical solutions for combat platforms. We have a global reputation for excellence in tactical computing and displays, fire control and turret stabilisation, video distribution and processing, and tactical intercom and C2/C4ISR routing and networking;

GDMS and Dedrone have partnered in a value-added reseller in the Counter-Unmanned Aerial Systems (C-UAS) space. GDMS will integrate its mission-critical solutions with Dedrone’s drone detection and defeat technology portfolio, which combines machine-learning software with best-in-class hardware sensors, electronic attack methods such as smart jamming, and effectors to provide early warning, classification of, and mitigation against drone threats;

Small Form Factor Command & Control Node (SFF C2): As the ‘ready now’ solution for Control and Reporting Center (CRC) modernisation, the SFF C2 capability provides the Air Force with virtualised, platform-agnostic, deployable C2 nodes. Designed to military standards with battle-tested hardware capabilities, SFF C2 integrates customer-developed software architectures and proven enablers to scale to any mission need;

GPS Source APNT and GPS Data Transmission: Assured PNT and GPS signal retransmission solutions such as the SENTRySCOUT Assured Positioning, Navigation & Timing (PNT) System, and ECHO-II GPS repeater provide critical timing and position data in GPS-denied and -degraded environments. SENTRySCOUT, based on the US Army’s Mounted APNT System (MAPS GEN-1), provides validated and assured PNT data, independent of the availability or integrity of GPS signals. The core of the SENTRySCOUT system is the ED3 PNT Hub, widely used in a variety of vehicular applications. When GPS indoor transmission is the primary concern, ECHO-II is a reliable signal repeater ideal for ground vehicles, aircraft, and buildings, when time to first-fix is critical;

Cyber Systems: GDMS secure voice, data protection and information sharing solutions support critical missions to help operators navigate the cyber ecosystem. TACDS, a tactical cross domain solution, enables secure information-sharing at various levels of security, faster and more efficiently than ever before. TACLANE high-assurance Type 1 encryption solutions are interoperable and NSA-certified, providing widely-deployed classified voice and data protection for national security systems, information and networks at the highest levels. We secure the mission from tactical edge to enterprise;

Next-Generation Army Standard Family of Shelters (ASF): The company is concluding development of ASF to address today’s ever-changing operational requirements across the military. The shelters feature a modern, lightweight and durable design that will enable them to operate in most extreme environments. They can be quickly deployed on the ground or on the Family of Medium Tactical Vehicles, enabling the flexibility and mobility needed to quickly transport, deploy, and move the shelters. The shelters can be used for several applications, including command posts, kitchens, maintenance shops and medical facilities. In addition, as the demand for larger Rigid Wall Shelter systems increases, General Dynamics has restarted production of the Modular Extendable Rigid Wall Shelter (MERWS), which provides increased shelter capacity for C2 centres as well as deployable debriefing conference rooms;

Common Hardware Systems-5 (CHS-5), provides US military customers rapid, affordable access to a wide range of COTS computing and network equipment for tactical operations. GDMS provides technical assistance and logistics support for a wide range of services, from the rapid repair and replacement of equipment at strategically located Regional Support Centers, to the deployment of field service personnel to CHS-5 user locations worldwide. Available to all military services and across the federal government, the CHS-5 contract is a ‘one stop shop’ for tactical IT hardware solutions.
