Improves Capabilities is Advanced Sensor Development
General Atomics Aeronautical Systems, Inc. (GA-ASI) announced on 4 June that it has acquired a majority of the assets and all intellectual property of IJK Controls, a Pasadena, CA-based provider of innovative solutions for stabilisation, pointing and tracking of cameras, sensors and antennas.
The acquisition adds critical capabilities in the development of electro-optical/infrared (EO/IR) and RF gimbaled and turret-based systems for advanced airborne ISR, communications and weapons applications. The IJK workforce and assets will be integrated into GA-ASI to support the company’s growth initiatives in development and fielding of advanced sensors and payloads for its UAS portfolio.
“Leveraging the team’s extensive expertise in the rapidly developing field of stabilized gimbals for airborne applications, GA-ASI will expand its product portfolio and enable new mission capabilities for our customers,” stated GA-ASI CEO, Linden Blue.
