I/ITSEC 2017: FoxGuard Solutions Unveils Simitar Computer Family

Heritage of technical and related life cycle support capabilities

Christiansburg, Virginia (US)-based FoxGuard Solutions (FoxGuard) (I/ITSEC Booth #2235) is bringing to bear its heritage of technical and related life cycle support capabilities in industrial computing and cyber security into the adjacent military simulation and training marketspace. At this year’s I/ITSEC, FoxGuard is releasing and is available to speak with delegates about Simitar FLEX, a 2U/2GPU rack-mount computer for customers seeking form factor reduction and Simitar FORCE, a professional workstation designed to maximize the performance of simulation software such as Bohemia Interactive Simulation’s (BiSim) VBS3 and VBS Blue IG.

We recognised the need in simulation and training for turnkey rack-integration, life cycle management, information and supply chain security, and international support where we can leverage processes we already have in place from supplying customers in global Energy markets,Jonas Baranauskas, FoxGuard’s Product Manager, noted about FoxGuard’s suite of products with S&T application.

Simitar FORCE is being utilised in BiSim’s North America Technology Partners corporate demonstration room in Orlando, Florida.

Form factor reduction trends are driving FoxGuard’s Simitar FLEX product launch. The industry has seen an increased use of mobile solutions – where simulators and other instructional materials are transported to a learning audience, at a National Guard armory for instance. “If your software uses SLI (Scalable Link Interface) you can take advantage of two video cards in a 2U format thereby doubling the amount of channels you can run in the same footprint,” Baranauskas added. “US DoD requests for proposals are increasingly looking for ways to reduce the amount of computers utilized in turnkey solutions.”

FoxGuard is accepting orders for the new SimitarFORCE and Simitar FLEX units.

Beyond computers, FoxGuard also offers custom services to complement the Simitar product line. “We specialise in preconfigured integrated racks and imaging to help customers with a quick on site-installation. Programs include revision control and lifecycle management to keep designs continuously current,” Baranauskas pointed out and continued, “and this meets yet another trend we see at the US DoD – customers typically want a system that lasts for years.”

FoxGuard is also evolving into an international brand, with about 40% of its revenue in international business. “We maintain a database of over 40,000 regulatory certificates and reports covering thousands of products from a network of over 250 manufactures and suppliers. We also handle customer tasks freight forwarders require, like the Shipper’s Letter of Instruction, HTS (Harmonized Tariff Schedule) and ECCN (Export Control Classification Number) codes and country of origin for each top level BOM (Bill of Materials) included in each shipment,” the corporate media point of contact concluded.
