Depot-Level Facility for PARS III Fleet
Following on from FNSS’ delivery in 2020 of 172 PARS III 6×6 and 8×8 armoured vehicles in 13 variants, to the Sultanate of Oman, the company has now signed a contract with the Omani Ministry of Finance covering the supply of a depot-level maintenance and repair facility to support the fleet.
FNSS will be responsible for design, construction and commissioning of the facility – including infrastructure margin for potential future growth – and all necessary machinery and equipment. The company will also transfer necessary technology, knowledge and expertise to Royal Army of Oman personnel, provide technical documentation and interactive electronic technical manuals, as well as arranging the required training. In addition, the project also aims to develop the capabilities of local Omani companies to produce spare parts for the defence industry.
The Royal Army of Oman will thus gain a modern, advanced and fully-equipped facility, with options for expansion, that will ensure effective use of the PARS III fleet and contribute to the development and support of the national defence industry.
